The stady pace of her legs calmed her mind. Her breathing was irregular. Being chased by a demon was not. Well not really a demon, but he asked as though he ought to be one. She grasped the large doorhandle of the theatre entrance. She door swung open easily and she ran inside. Pieces of tile were strune about the floor. Making it hard for her to escape the all too sudden defeat. She crossed the tiles quickly like walking on hot coals. Not wanting to misplace any and set in stone her path. A dark path of stairs leading up to the 'expensive' boxes was at her right. She looked left but ony saw the ticket office and snack bar counter. Infront of her was the main seating to the theater. Her follower would surely think to follow her in there. She took the step to the top. Taking two steps at a time, sometimes three. She reached the boxes. All of the doors had been pulled off the hinges and were missing. She took the first box and stood back to the wall she just entered through. Her left shoulder was to the door and her knife in her right ready to strike if he decided to enter.
She waited, his voice could not be heard yelling at her throughout the theatre. She loosened her position and returned the knife to her waist. Her bangs had fallen into her face, but she hadn't taken the time to notice. She pulled them back behind her ears and went to the edge of the box. Looking over the edge to see if he was below. His form could not be seen. Maybe he fell for her slip and did not see her run in. That was too easy. She didn't dare sit, but stood and collected herself. Taking the knife back out she went to go downstairs and look through the seats below.
She reached the bottom of the steps careful not to break the tile incase he was here. There was no movement about her. Had she succeeded? She went to the theatre door and opened it. She walked in carefully. Nobody was inside. A deep sigh escaped her tired body. She pressed ehr back against the wall and slid down it.
