Roza gasped as her body heaved upward, trying to inhale as much air as she could. All she could remember, was being with her family in the shopping mall and then suddenly a mass of panic had erupted in the crowds of shoppers. She opened her eyes slowly to see open skylight - there was a huge hole in the mall ceiling. She noticed something heavy on her chest and looked down to see a large piece of concrete holding her down.
Roza tried to get up, but it was no use. She tried to turn on her side and saw that the concrete was moving. Finally it fell to the floor with a loud thud. She looked down to see grazes bleeding from her stomach. Grimacing, she pulled herself up, slightly shaking.
The place was deserted apart from a few bodies - she couldn't see any of her family anywhere. A tear stung her cheak, but she wiped it away. What happened here? Whatever it is, I must stay strong, she thought to herself. She noticed her reflection in the window - ripped black t-shirt, torn black trousers, smudged make-up and dusty hair. Past that she saw a pharmacy. Brilliant!
Roza rushed into the pharmacy and looked over the debris on the floor. She grabbed a bag and stuffed it with anything useful - plasters, bandages, gauze.... She went out the pharmacy and looked for anything that would sell food. Straight ahead was a vending machine. That'll have to do, Roza thought as her mouth salivated at the thought of food. picking up a fire hydrant on the wall, she smashed the glass front and put some of the packaged food in her bag. Next stop, a clothes store. Going into the nearest she could find, she picked out a black strappy dress and changed into.
Roza walked out into the bleak atmosphere that was once the mall. Dust swirled as bits of debris fell from heights, a few shards of light poking through the black clouds above. Roza headed toward the main doors to the outside, in hope of finding life.
